We are delighted that you are considering our Summer Associate Program.
When David Taggart and George Bingham joined as partners in 1899, they started what has become one of the oldest and largest law firms in the State of New Hampshire. We take pride in our historical ties with the State of New Hampshire, the City of Manchester and in providing excellent legal services to our clients in New Hampshire and beyond. We also take pride in our strong civic ties to the community.
This tradition of public service dates back to George Bingham, who served as both a justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and a judge of the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals. Other members of the firm have served with distinction as judges, Attorneys General, and members of the United States Congress. We draw on our vast experience and historical perspective to address the ever-shifting demands of this challenging and rewarding profession.
The Wadleigh Summer Associate Program
We are currently accepting applications for associates for Summer 2027!
Our summer associate program gives law students the opportunity to experience the real practice of law in a variety of areas.
For example, a summer associate could attend a court case in the morning, while assisting with a real estate closing in the afternoon. The program offers the summer associate the chance to use real world experience in determining the practice area or areas that she or he may want to focus on after graduation.
Our summer program is a key component of our first-year associate hiring process. Over the past several years, we have extended full-time offers to every summer associate.

Josh De Young
The Summer Associate Program exposed me to numerous practice areas, helping me identify which areas interested me most and where I could add the most value. It also took me from answering hypothetical exam questions in the classroom to collaborating with attorneys and staff across the firm to solve real problems for clients.
While I initially felt like a fish out of water, by the end of the summer I had developed a clearer sense of what practicing law at a high level looks like, and the experience prepared me to hit the ground running after graduation.

The summer associate program allowed me to get a genuine feel of what it is like to be a lawyer at Wadleigh on a day-to-day basis. From completing research assignments to sitting in court hearings and a real estate closing, I was able to participate in a wide variety of experiences during my summer and hone in on my practice areas of interest. I also had the privilege of developing relationships with partners, associates, and staff that have continued since I joined the firm as a full-time associate.
